Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is seeking a Material Handler on the first shift in our production cutting facility in Owatonna, MN. The role involves moving material using a stand-up forklift and overhead crane, loading and unloading trucks, deburring parts, packing finished products, and assisting machine operators as needed.

Candidates should have basic math skills and experience with cranes and forklifts, plus the ability to read micrometers and calipers. Steel industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills are a must.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts, and the ability to read a micrometer and caliper are required.
• Experience in the steel industry is a definite plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklift and overhead crane to move material in the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks using handling equipment, place material in storage locations
• Deburring of parts
• Pack finished product
• Assist machine operators as needed
