Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is seeking a Material Handler for its Ankeny, IA facility. Responsibilities include loading/unloading material, pulling orders with powered equipment, packing and staging for shipment, and completing paperwork.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of warehouse experience, prefer metal industry exposure, and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and operating related equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse operations.
• Experience with metal distribution industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and good math skills required.
• Warehouse not temperature-controlled; exposure to noise, vibration, oils and other chemicals; PPE required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk and stand for 8 hours; bending, reaching, squatting, twisting.

Responsibilities

• Pull material to fill customer orders using powered industrial trucks, side loader, or overhead crane.
• Pack, band, tag, and stage material for shipment.
• Enter order information into the computer and complete paperwork.
• Load orders onto trucks for delivery and unload inbound material as needed.
• Receive stock, relocate stock, and inspect stock as required.
• Perform safety checks and equipment inspections; maintain housekeeping.
