Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our distribution center. You will operate forklifts in a safety-driven environment, load/unload materials, and prepare paperwork for shipping.

We offer a fixed wage of $25.90 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits from day one, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, PTO and holidays. Previous forklift/warehouse experience preferred.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

The fixed rate is $25.15 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
