Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator in Nashville, TN. This role involves operating a forklift, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy within a safety-focused distribution center.

Expect a fixed wage of $22.95 per hour, Monday–Friday schedule, and comprehensive benefits from day one. Ideal candidates have warehouse experience and a reliable, safety-conscious work history.

Qualifications

• One year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely use forklift to transport products and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Safe work history and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in the working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You'll Do

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

The fixed rate is $22.95 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
