Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler 2 at our McCook facility to move materials, stock inventory, and support manufacturing operations. The role emphasizes safe practices, accurate material handling, and contributing to timely production.

The position requires basic math, forklift and crane operation as applicable, and the ability to work overtime in a fast-paced environment. Starting pay is $21.23/hour with a full-time schedule; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Previous Forklift certification or the ability to acquire forklift certification.
• If applicable based on location, ability to operate overhead cranes and acquire overhead crane certification.
• If applicable based on location, ability to operate hand and banding tools
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work instructions, drawings, and/or blueprints.
• Previous experience using a tape measure and gauges to measure parts/materials.
• If applicable based on location, work outdoors in extreme heat or cold.
• If applicable based on location, logging inventory transactions accurately.
• The ability to work overtime when required for business needs.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Transport products and materials within manufacturing areas.
• Maintain material storage per procedures.
• Receive incoming material shipments and load/unload trucks as needed.
• Verify inventory levels and assist with cycle counts where applicable.
• Support continuous improvement within Production.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE usage are followed.
• Maintain accuracy in part descriptions and quantities on boxes.
