Job summary

Kelly Services in Denver is seeking a Material Handler on 1st shift to support warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations. The role involves safely operating a forklift, loading/unloading at docks, and maintaining inventory accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You will follow 5S practices, use a Mobile Order Picking System, and work with various teams to ensure quality and timely delivery. The position offers a temp-to-hire path and a $25/hour pay rate.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 2 years of warehouse or supply chain experience.
• 2 years of forklift operating experience.
• Working knowledge of warehouse and shipping policies, procedures, operations, and general transportation processes.
• Good oral communication and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and translate data into useful information.
• Excellent attendance practices.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.
• Ability and willingness to work in other areas as needed, adjust lunch and break times based on workflow, and work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift.
• Load and unload materials from flatbed trailers, 53-foot vans, and rail cars at docks and in outdoor yards during all seasons and weather conditions.
• Read and understand pick documents and bills of lading to select, load, and unload products correctly.
• Follow Logistics Standard Operating Procedures and maintain the warehouse stock-location system and code dates to support proper inventory turns and FIFO principles.
• Receive incoming finished goods and raw materials and verify accuracy.
• Provide general customer service to customers and transportation providers.
• Use a Mobile Order Picking System.
• Safely lift, carry, and stack bundles of roofing shingles weighing up to 90 pounds.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming product and check work against process‑control instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
• Assist with corrective and preventive actions when appropriate.
• Participate in safety training, safety committee meetings, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
• Seek out work in other areas when current assignments are complete and perform other related duties as assigned.
