Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a motivated material handler for 1st shift. Starting wage is $18.00 per hour with overtime potential. You will move, package, and ship materials in a climate-controlled facility, using pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic English, and the ability to lift and perform manual tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and picks materials accordingly.
• Loads/unloads materials by hand or with forklift/pallet jack.
• Moves materials to designated areas and assists shipping.
• Counts, weighs, and records units moved on production sheets.
• Labels materials and ensures correct packaging for shipment.
• Operates pallet jack and forklift as required.
• Follows safety policies and productivity targets.

Shift: 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm + overtime

Your Responsibilities:

• Reads work order or pick ticketsor follows oral instructions toascertainmaterials or containers to be picked, moved, or processed
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, pallet jack, conveyor, or other material handling equipment
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites todesignatedarea
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Attachesidentifyingtags or labels to materials or marks information or cases or containers
• Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers
• Ensures accuracy or order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment
• Operate a pallet jack and forklift on a regular basis
• Able to meet quality and productivity deliverables
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
