Job summary

Daikin Applied in Dayton, Ohio is hiring for an entry-level material handler on 1st shift. The role includes reading work orders, moving materials by hand or with equipment, and securing shipments with proper packing. You’ll operate a pallet jack and forklift, meet quality goals, and adhere to safety rules in a climate-controlled facility.

• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials and stand for the majority of the shift.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders or tickets to determine materials to be picked or processed.
• Loads/unloads materials using pallets, forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment.
• Packs and secures materials for shipping and ensures accuracy of orders.
• Operates a pallet jack and forklift as needed.
• Follows safety policies and procedures and contributes to a safe work environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Reads work order or pick ticketsor follows oral instructions toascertainmaterials or containers to be picked, moved, or processed
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, pallet jack, conveyor, or other material handling equipment
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites todesignatedarea
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Attachesidentifyingtags or labels to materials or marks information or cases or containers
• Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers
• Ensures accuracy or order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment
• Operate a pallet jack and forklift on a regular basis
• Able to meet quality and productivity deliverables
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
