Job summary

Worley is seeking a Material Controller I in Lake Charles, LA to coordinate material planning, tracking and control activities across project lifecycles. You’ll ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support delivery and sustainability goals.

Working under established processes, you will forecast material demand, maintain control systems, and support project teams while building expertise in material management and project execution practices.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Experience supporting materials management, supply chain coordination, inventory control, or related project delivery functions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of material, and project documentation.
• Working knowledge of material control principles, inventory management practices, and supply chain processes within project-based environments.
• Experience with material management systems, enterprise systems, databases, and digital reporting tools.
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to evaluate material requirements and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Effective communication across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in changing project environments.
• Commitment to continuous learning and sustainable project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, material lists, and technical documentation to determine project material requirements.
• Analyze project requirements and develop material demand forecasts to support schedules and priorities.
• Maintain and update material control systems to support tracking and visibility.
• Prepare and maintain material documentation, supplier information, and records for procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels and optimize material usage to minimize excess stock.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, and project teams.
• Support material receiving, tracking, allocation and reconciliation activities.
• Identify shortages or supply risks and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Assist in maintaining project material status reports and updates.
• Support implementation of customer- and project-specific material management requirements.
• Perform routine audits of material records and control processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of material management practices and digital workflows.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
