Acadia Healthcare's Council Bluffs Comprehensive Treatment Center is seeking a Substance Use Counselor - CADC to join the compassionate counseling team. The role supports patients with opioid use disorder through individual and group sessions, recovery planning, and care coordination.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, treatment planning, documentation, crisis intervention, and collaboration with medical staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in social or health services field required.
• Prefer Bachelor's or Master’s degree in social or health services field.
• Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
• Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, MI, and relapse prevention.
• Documentation experience with clinical notes and treatment plans per regulations.
• Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission).
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions.
• Ensure documentation regarding patient care and incidents is timely and clear.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and referrals to other programs.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Perform case management duties for patients and liaise with referral sources.
