Job summary

Tempco Manufacturing Company in Saint Paul, MN seeks an experienced CNC Milling Programmer to own programming for 3–4 axis vertical machining centers in a metal stamping environment.

You will build toolpaths in Mastercam or GibbsCAM, translate blueprints and GD&T into machining strategies, and author setup/program sheets with tooling and toolpaths. Collaboration with engineering and quality teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC milling programming in metal stamping.
• Proficiency with Mastercam, GibbsCAM or similar CAM tools.
• G-code, machining principles, tool selection, feeds and speeds.
• Strong blueprint/CAD reading and GD&T literacy.
• Diagnose programming challenges while maintaining throughput.
• Attention to detail, quality mindset, and clear communication.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own programming for 3–4 axis VMCs in a metal stamping environment.
• Build toolpaths for tooling components and precision parts.
• Translate blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T into machining strategies.
• Author complete setup/program sheets: setups, tooling, pickup points, toolpaths.
• Program and sustain InspecVision optical inspection routines.
• Troubleshoot issues to protect uptime and meet production schedules.
• Continuously improve processes to reduce cycle times and elevate quality.
• Manage cutting tool purchasing, inventory, and life tracking per BOMs.
• Collaborate daily with engineering, operators, quality, and production leaders.
• Maintain version-controlled documentation aligned with ECNs and customer requirements.
