Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required with prior experience in structural steel/fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of blueprints, specs, and safety rules.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical, hand, power, layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Fabricate metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders per blueprints.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting and assist crane operators.
• Verify alignment of structural members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging to move heavy equipment or materials.
• Inspect work for compliance and take corrective action as needed.
