Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; uses cranes.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members with instruments.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces; positions for bolting or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
