Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Mississippi is seeking an experienced ironworker to lay out, install, assemble and erect structural steel according to blueprints and industry standards. The role involves reading blueprints, guiding hoisting operations, and ensuring safe and accurate placement on a busy construction site.

You will work with cranes, perform alignment checks, weld or bolt as required, and coordinate with supervision to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related field experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written/oral instructions.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools; able to handle layout tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine material needs.
• Fabricate metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting and guide hoisting operations.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members.
• Cut, bend or weld steel pieces using shears, torches or welding equipment.
• Position structural steel using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks or hand tools.
• Bolt, rivet or weld structural members for final assembly.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings for moving heavy equipment or materials.
