Job summary

Orient Express Sailing Yachts is seeking a Cellar Master/Head Sommelier to elevate beverage experiences across its venues aboard luxury yachts.

You will develop and execute beverage strategy, curate wine portfolios, train staff, plan and direct work, and assess performance while maintaining budgets and optimizing costs. This role focuses on guest experience and preserving Orient Express’ brand image at sea.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and execution of the beverage strategy across all Orient Express venues.
• Familiarize and train employees in wine knowledge and service standards.
• Plan, assign and direct work to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Appraise performance and discipline staff as required.
• Oversee beverage cost control, labor, wastage, and budget targets.
• Address guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Cellar Master/Head Sommelier on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.

The Head Sommelier/Cellar Master is responsible to drive the development and execution of Orient Express’ beverage strategy in restaurants, with a focus on elevating the guest experience through a carefully curated wine portfolio for multiple venues.

Oversees all aspects of financial management, including cost control (beverage cost, labor, comps, discounts, and wastage), to ensure that budgets and targets are consistently achieved and surpassed.

Ensures an elevated beverage experience for all Guests to foster a unique and identifiable Orient Express’ brand image.
