Job summary

TentCraft in Traverse City, MI seeks a Master Scheduler to balance the Demand Plan with the Production Schedule across print, sewing fabrication, metal fabrication, frame tent fabrication and final inspection. You’ll manage Work Orders, slot new orders, and optimize capacity while hitting customer in-hand dates.

This role rewards process improvement, requires strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to juggle many moving parts.

• In-depth knowledge of TentCraft systems; Kenandy, Salesforce, physical production systems.
• Immense attention to detail; there will be a lot of moving parts.
• Outstanding personal organization; you will get emails, calls, in-person questions, possibly simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills; the ability to talk to anybody and everybody.

Responsibilities

• Managing the overall factory schedule as it pertains to Work Orders and Shipment Plans; balancing capacity plans from the Print, Sewing Fabrication, Metal Fabrication, Frame Tent Fabrication and Final Inspection departments.
• Working with Client Service Reps to slot new Work Orders into the production queues and prioritize accordingly.
• Arranging existing Work Orders in the production queues when necessary.
• Processing re-worked jobs to ensure they return to the right step in the process.
• Optimizing the production schedule using lead times and capacity plans.
• Scheduling and coordinating dedicated freight for some customer shipments using lead times, capacity plans and carrier transit times to hit In Hand Dates.
• Collaborating with Client Services, Carriers & Supply Chain on logistics-related needs and issues.
• Maintaining lead times and capacity requirements with all TentCraft and Customer order needs.
• Planning and implementing Capacity Splits on customer orders.
• Communicating with VP of Manufacturing on constraint levels to decide on new machines or hires.
