Job summary

Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for master’s students in select residential and community-based programs. Internships are available nationwide during fall and spring, with rolling offers as slots fill quickly.

The Masters-level intern shadows counselors, carries a reduced caseload, and conducts individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices. A valid driver’s license is required for some roles.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in a social services discipline (required).
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shadow counselors in home- and community-based family sessions.
• Carry a reduced caseload and implement interventions.
• Facilitate individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
• Utilize evidence-based practices in treatment.
• Attend weekly meetings for professional development and supervision.
• Complete accurate documentation in an EMR system.
