Job summary

Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for bachelor’s and master’s students across select residential and community-based programs. Internships are designed to fit practicum needs and can yield course credit.

Placements are offered nationwide during fall and spring semesters, with select locations in Tennessee for summer. The Master’s Level Intern shadows counselors, carries a reduced caseload, and supports therapy sessions while using evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in a social services discipline (required).
• Degrees considered include social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
• Current driver's license and automobile for work; mileage reimbursement where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Shadows counselors in home- and community-based family sessions.
• Carries a reduced caseload and implements interventions.
• Facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices.
• Attends weekly meetings for professional development and clinical consultation.
• Completes accurate documentation in an EMR.
