Job summary

Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for bachelor’s and master’s students across select residential and community-based programs. The Master’s level intern shadows counselors, supports family sessions, and participates in ongoing professional development while gaining hands-on clinical experience in a national mental health organization.

Internships run nationwide during fall and spring, with select Tennessee locations in summer, and require a valid driver’s license with mileage

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in a social services discipline is required.

Responsibilities

• Shadows counselors in home- and community-based family sessions.
• Carries a reduced caseload and implements interventions.
• Facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices.
• Attends 3 weekly meetings for professional development.
• Accesses clinical trainings and provides transports as needed.
• Completes accurate documentation in an EMR system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
