Job summary

Youth Villages is seeking a Master’s Level Intern to shadow counselors in home- and community-based family sessions, carrying a reduced caseload and delivering evidence-based interventions. The role offers hands-on clinical exposure within a national mental health program.

The internship is nationwide; schedule is flexible around youth and families. Applicants must be actively enrolled in a Master’s program in a social services discipline and may need a driver's license for field visits.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in a social services discipline (required).
• Degrees that can be considered include social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy.

Responsibilities

• Shadows counselors in home- and community-based family sessions with Youth Villages staff.
• Carries a reduced caseload and implements interventions.
• Facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
• Utilizes evidence-based practices.
• Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development.
• Accesses clinical trainings.
• Provides transports to various locations as needed.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
