Qualifications

• Must hold a current Michigan Journeyman or Master Plumber License.
• High school graduate with 3–5 years in the trade, ideally in maintenance.
• Backflow prevention testing certification or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Michigan drivers license.
• Computer skills to respond to work orders and communicate on campus.
• Ability to plan and organize work based on work orders and PM requirements.
• Diplomatic, stress-tolerant interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and critique plumbing design documents for new and existing buildings.
• Oversee college technicians and outside contractors on projects.
• Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, alterations on fixtures and systems.
• Determine and implement preventive maintenance.
• Estimate material needs and pricing; advise supervisor on replacements.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and operating instructions.
• Respond to emergency after-hours needs.
• Maintain licenses and attend required trainings.
