Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a journeyman plumber to perform and oversee in-house plumbing work. Responsibilities include maintaining drainage, water distribution, domestic systems, steam systems, and lab drains, with coordination across trades and vendors.

The role requires planning from blueprints and responding to routine and emergency repairs, under the direction of the Associate Director Facilities Management. Schedule is 40 hours/52 weeks, with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• MI Journeyman Plumber license required.
• MI Master Plumber license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate own and others' work across plumbing, electrical, maintenance, HVAC and carpentry.
• Plan, organize and layout plumbing work using blueprints, schematics, schedules or sketches.
• Assist consultants, contractors, architects during design and construction of college projects.
• Respond to routine and emergency repair calls.
• Maintain all college plumbing systems up to drainage, water distribution, domestic, steam distribution and lab drains.
