Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Operating Engineer Master (Building Systems). This role involves shift work monitoring the energy management system, inspecting building systems, and performing repairs as assigned.

Applicants should have three years of experience or training in operating or maintaining large mechanical equipment. A EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification (Section 608) is required for suitable positions.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control system wide output; serve as sole operator on an assigned shift.
• Take hourly readings and log data; perform chemical and softener tests; blow down boilers; read gauges for water levels and pressures.
