LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans seeks an Operating Engineer Master (Building Systems) to monitor the energy management system, perform rounds, and carry out repairs on a rotating shift basis.

This is shift work monitoring the LSUHSC-NO energy management system, making rounds to visually inspect building systems and making repairs as assigned.
LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking motivated individuals for the position of Operating Engineer Master. There are multiple vacancies. Must be available to work shifts.
Starting rate of pay $21.05 per hour. There is also an additional $1 Longevity pay, $2 Shift pay and $3 Weekend Shift pay for hours worked only. Rate may be increased depending on applicants’ qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: For those positions in which incumbents will be working with and handling refrigerants, possession of an appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians will be required (as required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990).
At a minimum possession of a 2ND Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate for Steam Boilers and a 2ND Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate for Air Conditioning.
No Civil Service Test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
