Job summary

U.S. Water Heating is seeking a Master Mechanic to provide technical support for maintenance of plant machinery and equipment at the Montgomery, AL facility.

The role involves engineering input for new facilities, specification prep for bids, and leadership of maintenance teams. The position emphasizes preventive maintenance, equipment optimization, and coordination across departments to ensure production targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Industrial Maintenance experience.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Proficient with PC and maintenance software.
• Able to use various hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.
• Able to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance foremen across shifts.
• Establish procedures and policies for maintenance efficiency.
• Interpret directives and drawings for maintenance work.
• Coordinate work between plants and departments.
• Serve as a resource to other plants within the division.
• Maintain a well-trained maintenance force and ensure material/tools availability.
• Control costs, safety, housekeeping and equipment for maintenance operations.
• Maintain good employee-management relations and handle grievances.
• Represent company to vendors and external reps.
• Plan complex production processes and manage project costs.
• Participate in productivity improvements and cost-reduction efforts.
• Lead or contribute to matrix project teams and ensure timely reporting.
• Liaise between functions to resolve process and facility issues.
• Report to Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.
