Job summary

U.S. Water Heating in Montgomery, AL seeks a Master Mechanic to provide technical support for maintenance across plant equipment and facilities. The role includes engineering input for new or modified facilities and oversees preventive maintenance and production-support activities.

Lead the maintenance team, develop procedures, interpret drawings, coordinate cross-plant work, and manage costs, safety, and training to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Industrial Maintenance experience.
• Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to use a PC with Microsoft Office and maintenance software.
• Able to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.
• Able to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the diverse activities of all the maintenance foremen regardless of shift.
• Establish departmental procedures and policies for approval by higher management.
• Interpret directives, specifications and engineering drawings, and disseminate information as required.
• Direct planning and coordination of work between plants or departments to promote cooperation.
• Be a resource to other plants and functions within the division.
• Maintain a well-trained maintenance force and ensure availability of materials and tools.
• Control quantity and quality of work, costs, safety, housekeeping, and equipment readiness.
• Train subordinates and enforce safety regulations and conduct salary reviews for foremen.
• Represent company to outside vendors or company representatives.
• Plan the implementation of complex production processes and cost estimates for projects.
• Investigate productivity improvements and cost reductions for major changes.
• Participate in matrix project teams with schedules and cost control.
• Liaise between functions to resolve process capability and facility issues.
• Reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
