Job summary

U.S. Water Heating is seeking a Master Mechanic in Montgomery, AL to lead maintenance activities across plants and facilities.

The role includes supervising foremen, planning complex projects, interpreting engineering drawings, and coordinating materials to meet production schedules. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and proficiency with maintenance software and Office tools.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 5 years' industrial maintenance experience.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Proficient with PCs and maintenance software.
Experience using hand tools and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, multimeter).

Responsibilities

Supervise the activities of maintenance foremen regardless of shift.
Establish departmental procedures and policies for approval by higher management.
Interpret directives, specifications and engineering drawings; disseminate information as required.
Plan and coordinate all work between plants or departments to promote cooperation.
Be a resource to other plants and functions within the division.
Maintain a well-trained maintenance force and ensure availability of materials and tools for schedules.
Control quality of work, costs, safety, and housekeeping within the department.
Establish and maintain good employee-management relations through training and safety adherence.
Review foremen performance and recommend salary increases.
Represent company to outside vendors or representatives.
Plan complex production processes and improvements of hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical equipment; monitor progress and costs.
Participate in productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
Contribute to matrix project teams with schedules, reporting and cost control.
Facilitate information exchange across functions to resolve process and facility issues.
Report to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering.
Perform other duties as assigned.
