Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Port Charlotte, FL is hiring for a Meat Cutter within our meat department. You will cut, grind, wrap, weigh and label fresh meats, assist with special cuts, and maintain quality and safety standards for our members.

The role requires completing a training program or apprenticeship and prior meat cutting experience. You’ll lift up to 50 pounds and work in a cooler environment, while delivering friendly, assistant-style service to Members.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company standards; weighs, packages, wraps and labels.
• Rotates meat, poultry, seafood, and cheeses according to expiration dates; maintains case displays.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards throughout the meat department.
