Job summary

Hallett Materials, a CRH company, is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy equipment for groundwork and construction tasks in a utility capacity. The role demands adherence to safety standards, ability to switch between duties, and daily equipment inspections in a fast-paced site environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of related experience, with strong reading of project documents and basic math.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints or other project documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights, safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Report any problems to the Foreperson, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources.
• Participate with various duties such as shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, etc. as assigned.
• Perform daily safety checks of all equipment and site operations.
• Participate in Continuous Site Improvement through use of performance standards.
• Follow direction of Foreperson as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
• Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Assist in training less experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
