Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to generate mechanistic insights that influence analytical control strategies, molecule design, and formulation development across its biologics pipeline. You will design MS-based studies, identify degradation pathways, and translate findings into practical mitigation strategies while collaborating with a diverse team of scientists.

Qualifications

  • PhD at time of appointment.
  • Preferred: PhD in Analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, or related life sciences disciplines.
  • Demonstrated independent design, execution, and interpretation of experiments with publications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute MS-based mechanistic studies of protein fragmentation pathways in biologics.
  • Identify fragmentation products and map fragmentation sites using MS, chromatography, and structural analysis.
  • Integrate data with mechanistic modeling to predict degradation behavior.
  • Translate findings into hypotheses and mitigation strategies for molecule design and storage.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
  • Collaborate within a large team of scientists across Amgen's pipeline.
