Job Summary:
The Marketplace Analyst is a critical operational partner responsible for the day-to-day execution of Outback Toys’ presence across all third party online marketplace platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target, eBay, TikTok, and others). This role leads order processing, marketplace customer service, and pricing and offer decisions within established guidelines, while monitoring advertising performance and platform compliance across channels. The Marketplace Analyst reports to and works closely with the eCommerce Manager, who sets marketplace strategy and direction and provides guidance on day-to-day judgment calls. The Marketplace Analyst is responsible for keeping marketplace operations accurate, compliant, and running on schedule, and for surfacing the data and insights the eCommerce Manager needs to make informed strategic decisions. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort with recurring deadline-driven tasks, and sound judgment when applying established decision rules to pricing, offers, and platform issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day execution of order processing across Outback Toys’ third party marketplace platforms.
- Track and report to the eCommerce Manager on marketplace KPIs including sales revenue, ROAS, SKU Performance, Buy Box status, and inventory health.
- Manage pricing and customer offers using established decision guidelines by applying sound judgment.
- Monitor marketplace advertising performance against defined ROAS and spend targets, adjusting or pausing campaigns per established rules.
- Manage marketplace inventory processes, including replenishment and new product enrollment, to maintain healthy stock levels and maximum product exposure across channels.
- Partner with the eCommerce Manager to execute marketplace initiatives and provide data-driven recommendations that inform overall marketplace strategy.
- Promote the interests of Outback Toys in a manner consistent with the company's vision, mission, business philosophy, and core values.
Position Responsibilities:
- Own daily order processing and billing across marketplace platforms, ensuring that orders are accurately invoiced and fulfilled on schedule.
- Resolve order changes, customer messages, and account or compliance issues across marketplace platforms daily, keeping response times within required windows.
- Evaluate and respond to buyer pricing offers and inquiries using established decision guidelines, escalating uncertain calls to the eCommerce Manager.
- Develop and implement solutions for listing issues, suppressed SKUs, or compliance flags with urgency and accuracy.
- Lead and maintain pricing and performance tracking tools, reviewing data regularly to catch margin or cost anomalies before they become larger issues.
- Manage marketplace inventory replenishment (e.g., Amazon FBA) to maintain healthy stock levels while considering internal sales needs. This includes evaluating new items for enrollment at FBA.
- Ensure consistent execution of platform-specific best practices and listing requirements.
- Monitor customer satisfaction trends and flag opportunities to improve brand sentiment across platforms.
- Monitor competitor activity and marketplace trends, surfacing insights to the eCommerce Manager.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse/fulfillment, and procurement teams to keep order and inventory issues resolved quickly and accurately.
- Identify inefficiencies in marketplace processes and bring well-researched recommendations to the eCommerce Manager.
- Track advertising campaigns and suggest new initiatives to the eCommerce Manager as opportunities arise.
- Build relationships with external representatives and take monthly calls to discover new opportunities which can help grow Outback Toys’ presence on third party marketplaces.
Requirements:
- Experience with third party marketplace platforms (Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Seller Center, eBay); familiarity with Target, Macy's, Bloomingdale's or TikTok Shop marketplace programs a plus.
- Strong Excel proficiency, including comfort with data imports, power-query and formula-driven tools.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability with time-sensitive, recurring daily tasks.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales, margin, and advertising performance data.
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP/order management system preferred.
- Familiarity with Rithum or a similar marketplace integration/order management platform a plus.
- Basic understanding of marketplace advertising fundamentals (e.g., ROAS, campaign monitoring) preferred.
- Ability to follow documented processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent written communication skills for customer-facing messaging across multiple platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional Saturday work and increased hours during the holiday season (Q4).
