Job summary

University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Executive Education seeks an Associate Director of Marketing Content & Communications to craft compelling program stories and manage editorial content across web, email, and campaigns. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field, with 3-5 years of professional experience in content development, editorial, or marketing communications roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and storytelling across digital marketing channels, including website content, campaign assets, social media, and multimedia formats.
  • Experience managing and editing website content and collaborating with web teams on user experience, content structure, and optimization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multimedia storytelling initiatives such as video development, including scripting, narrative development, or content planning.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to translate complex program concepts and stakeholder input into clear, engaging content for executive audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders including faculty, internal teams, clients, and program participants.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards for editorial quality, accuracy, and brand alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop compelling stories that highlight Wharton Executive Education programs, participant experiences, faculty perspectives, and organizational partnerships.
  • Draft and edit high-quality marketing content across web, email, paid media copy and campaign assets, social media copy, scripts, reports, and sales/business development materials.
  • Lead ongoing development, editing, and maintenance of program webpages across the Executive Education portfolio to ensure messaging clarity, accuracy, and alignment with program positioning.
  • Own day-to-day content maintenance across the website and program materials, including FAQs, policy updates, course pack edits, faculty title changes, and other time-sensitive updates.
  • Maintain and evolve core messaging frameworks and approved copy blocks to support consistent positioning across channels and efficient campaign execution.
  • Support story development by interviewing faculty, clients, participants, internal stakeholders, and staff to capture insights illustrating program impact.
  • Partner with web and digital teams to refine page structure, messaging flow, and user experience, contributing to SEO and AEO strategies.
  • Partner with Multimedia Director on video and webinar storytelling, supporting narrative development and ensuring multimedia assets are backed by web/email/social copy.
  • Draft and refine sales/business development content such as outreach scripts, talking points, pitch decks, and one-pagers in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Support lifecycle communications beyond top-of-funnel marketing with copy and reusable modules across journeys.
  • Serve as editorial partner to marketing colleagues, program teams, and business units to shape program communications.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple content initiatives with high editorial standards.
  • Serve as a marketing content partner for Wharton Online collaborator programs with consistent messaging and brand handling.
