This position will be based in Chicago, IL and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

Job Description

Are you a dynamic and strategic thinker with a passion for retail channel sales? Gallo is seeking a Retail Market Development Manager to join our dedicated team. The role involves maximizing the sale and distribution of our brands in retail accounts, executing sales and marketing strategies, understanding distributor deal structures, and identifying competitive pricing opportunities to drive market growth.

You will spend 80% of your time working closely with distributor personnel to execute programs, close gaps, and increase points of distribution. Your strategic planning skills will be crucial in maximizing sales and growth, along with training and coaching distributor sales representatives and district managers to achieve performance goals.

Your responsibilities include gathering market intelligence, identifying opportunities, sharing insights with management, maintaining retail prices, supporting recruiting efforts, motivating distributor personnel, coordinating with Shopper Marketing, and reinforcing Gallo standards through communication.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years of sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as per local regulations.
  • Ability to travel, taste, and smell wine, and perform tastings.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Travel up to 25% for business purposes.
  • Strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills.

  • Additional experience with Gallo brands or in retail alcohol sales.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $82,350 - $137,300/year.
