Job summary

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Market Development Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in the Central U.S. territory.

This remote, customer-facing role travels up to 60% and supports builders, pro-dealers, and retail accounts with regional market-development strategies. The ideal candidate will have 5–10+ years in home construction or building products, strong customer-relations skills, and deep knowledge of construction methods and codes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a marketing or sales role within the wood products industry.
  • 5+ years in home construction/building products industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and building materials.
  • Experience with builders; understanding of building codes and product applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand and communicate product applications.
  • Ability to analyze market information and present findings clearly.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and strengthen long-term relationships with pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, yards, and industrial customers.
  • Understand customer businesses, market needs, product applications, and growth opportunities.
  • Design regional marketing programs supporting sales and marketing objectives.
  • Promote building products to builders, contractors, dealers, and industry partners.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource and product expert for applications and programs.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on product usage, market trends, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with inside sales, management, marketing, and support teams to reach revenue goals.
  • Support customers during mill visits and onsite meetings with professional representation.
  • Contribute to broader sales, marketing, and organizational planning.
  • Mentor outside marketing team and support staff.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and high service level across the territory.

Job description

Location: Remote – Central U.S. Territory
Travel: Up to 60%

Salary: $112,000–$138,000 base salary + 10% bonus

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Market Development Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading building products manufacturer. This remote, highly customer-facing role will support an assigned territory across the Central U.S. and requires up to 60% travel, including regular visits to manufacturing facilities in Texas and Minnesota.

The Market Development Manager will serve as both a technical resource and product expert, supporting customers across the new home, multifamily, and commercial construction markets. This individual will be responsible for strengthening relationships with builders, pro-dealers, retail accounts, and other key customers while developing and executing regional market-development strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Establish, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, contractor yards, and industrial customers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer businesses, market needs, product applications, and opportunities for growth.
  • Design and implement regional marketing programs that support broader sales and marketing objectives.
  • Promote new and existing building products to builders, contractors, dealers, and other industry partners.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource and subject matter expert for products, applications, and market programs.
  • Provide professional analysis and reporting regarding product usage, market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Partner closely with inside sales, sales management, marketing, and support teams to help achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Support customers during mill visits and other onsite meetings, providing a professional and knowledgeable representation of the organization.
  • Contribute to broader sales, marketing, and organizational planning initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring support to members of the outside marketing team and support staff.
  • Maintain consistent customer follow-up and deliver a high level of service throughout the territory.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a marketing or sales role within the wood products industry.
  • Five to ten or more years of experience within the home construction, building products, or related building materials industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and building materials.
  • Experience working directly with builders and an understanding of building codes and product applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications.
  • Ability to analyze market information and present findings in a clear, professional manner.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with structural wood products or other building materials.
  • Engineering, architectural, or building science education or accreditation.
  • Experience reading construction drawings or other construction documents.
  • CAD experience is helpful but not required.
  • Previous experience working with pro-dealers, builders, contractor yards, distributors, or building-material retail accounts.

Base salary of $112,000–$138,000

10% annual bonus opportunity
