Job summary

Ports America Chesapeake is seeking an Operations Manager to lead terminal operations, oversee staff, and ensure safety and efficiency across assigned cargo operations in Baltimore, MD. The role involves budgeting, labor planning, and coordinating with M&R/Terminal departments to meet operational goals.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, manage labor relations, and uphold Ports America values in all actions, while traveling as needed to support other operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of management experience in operations, transportation, warehousing, or related settings.
• Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) issued by DHS.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and supervision of terminal operations and staff.
• Ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with safety programs.
• Develop short-range business plans and manage labor requirements.
• Monitor overtime and costs; optimize staffing and expenditures.
• Mentor Interns and entry-level staff; support labor relations.
• Collaborate with M&R/Terminal Departments to allocate equipment.
