Job summary

Ports America is seeking a Marine Superintendent to lead and supervise longshore operations across multiple terminals. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and coordinating a skilled workforce in a dynamic maritime environment.

You will work with terminal staff to optimize plans, ensure productive workflows, and maintain compliance with labor contracts while supporting overall terminal performance and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in maritime, logistics, terminal operations, or related supply chain industry
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marine Administration, Transportation, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline

Responsibilities

• Work closely with terminal staff to prepare department plans while determining the appropriate workforce to hire for an efficient and cost-effective completion of plan.
• Supervise union represented personnel in proper operating procedures and counsel, discipline, or make termination recommendations to ensure an efficient operation within labor agreements.
• Enforce productivity levels by supervising longshore workers in multiple rounds and conduct follow-up assessments before shift end.
• Complete reports such as shift production, payroll, and safety summaries; produce reports to parties within deadlines.
• Plan, hold, and document daily safety meetings; train long-shore workers to adhere to safety procedures and address hazards.
