Job summary

Ports America is seeking a Marine Superintendent to lead terminal operations, supervise longshore labor, and ensure safe, efficient performance across multiple ports. The role emphasizes adherence to labor agreements, productivity oversight, and coordination with safety teams.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and 2+ years in maritime/logistics, with preferred Bachelor’s degree in Marine Administration or related fields.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in maritime, logistics, terminal operations or related supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Work with terminal staff to prepare department plans and hire workforce for efficient, cost-effective plan execution.
• Supervise union represented personnel and enforce proper operating procedures within labor agreements.
• Enforce productivity by supervising longshore workers and conducting shift-end assessments.
• Complete shift production, payroll, and safety reports and share with required parties by deadlines.
• Support, monitor, and troubleshoot terminal operating systems; handle related tech duties as needed.
• Lead daily safety meetings and coordinate with Health, Safety & Environment to train workers on safety procedures.
• Report issues to the responsible manager and adhere to all union contracts.
• Perform other related duties as directed by business needs.
