Job summary

Leidos seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support NIWC Pacific, focusing on configuration management and TEMPALT development for naval platforms. You will bridge engineering disciplines to ensure accurate documentation and successful integration on shipboard systems.

The role requires a BS in a relevant field, 2–5+ years in mechanical design or CM, proficiency with Solid Edge, ANSI/EIA-649 knowledge, and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance. On-site 9/80 schedule with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related field.
• 2–5+ years in mechanical design, structural integration, or configuration control.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Solid Edge preferred).
• Strong understanding of Configuration Management principles (ANSI/EIA-649).
• Analytical skills: basic structural calculations (stress, CG, loads).
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to interface with shipyards and Navy officials.

Responsibilities

• CM: Establish and maintain system baselines, drawings, and documentation across multiple systems.
• Control engineering changes: review drawings, models, specs; manage ECOs and deviations.
• Generate and review TEMPALT packages per NAVSEA requirements.
• Perform shipboard installation reviews and create installation instructions and procedures.
• Provide on-site support to shipyards and Navy stakeholders; coordinate with program offices.
