Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance operations for Dive XL autonomous underwater vehicles and related maritime equipment. The role demands strong leadership, rigorous safety discipline, and a focus on reliability in a fast-paced defense environment.

The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team, develop maintenance plans, and collaborate with Fleet Engineering and supply chain to ensure asset readiness and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience in maintenance management in tech.
• Suitable trade or engineering qualification.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
• Experience with condition-based maintenance and predictive maintenance technologies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and manage a team of technicians to maintain Dive XL AUVs.
• Establish forward operating facilities and infrastructure for test and maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules.
• Guide the development of maintenance documentation and parts catalogues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control procedures.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with Fleet Engineering to improve equipment reliability.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and manage maintenance budgets and forecasting.
• Coordinate with supply chain to ensure spare parts availability.
• Liaise with customers, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work with Product Lifecycle Maintenance on total lifecycle cost optimization.
