Job summary

Kirby-Corporation in the Texas City area is seeking a dispatch professional to coordinate vessel and barge movements, communicate with shoreside personnel, and ensure timely execution of orders. The role requires organizing, multitasking, and strong communication within a busy, open environment.

You will work a 12-hour daily shift (7 days on, 7 days off, rotating day/night) with 24-hour coverage as needed, interacting with dispatch teams, vendors, and vessel crews while maintaining accurate logs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year dispatch or towing industry experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and VHF radio.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel and barge movements with Houston dispatch, sales, customers, and Kirby fleet in Bolivar, Texas City, Freeport, Beaumont, and Port Arthur.
• Enter trip information and orders into the Oasis system and track all related requirements.
• Contact Vessel or Barge M&R to coordinate repairs and arrange Shore Tankerman setups as needed.
• Maintain daily logs and coordinate fleet inspections; support security drills and incident notification.
