Job summary

Kirby is seeking a dispatcher to facilitate information flow between vessel crews and shoreside personnel. You will coordinate vessel and barge movements across Bolivar, Texas City, Freeport, Beaumont, and Port Arthur, using VHF radio and Oasis software to enter trips and orders.

Responsibilities include coordinating repairs with Vessel or Barge M&R, setting up Shore Tankerman, and managing fleeting operations while maintaining daily logs and 24/7 dispatch coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year dispatch or towing experience preferred; college degree considered in place of experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to operate office equipment and VHF radio.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Houston dispatch, Sales, Customers, and vessel/barge movements in Bolivar, Texas City, Freeport, Beaumont, and Port Arthur.
• Communicate with vessels via VHF radio and Oasis; enter trip information and orders; log all movements.
• Contact Vessel or Barge M&R to coordinate repairs.
• Set up Shore Tankerman and coordinate with Logistics Management as needed.
• Coordinate and assist with all fleeting operations.
• Maintain daily logs; coordinate fleet inspections and horsepower assignments.
