Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Field Safety & Quality Manager to lead HSSQE performance across the greater New York/New Jersey area. The role visits vessels, conducts audits, coaches leaders, and investigates incidents to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Travel between Jersey City, Brooklyn and Manhattan is required; strong maritime background and USCG familiarity are essential. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Maritime degree or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in marine operations, safety, quality or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of USCG regulations for passenger vessel operations is preferred.
• Ability to conduct audits, inspections or regulatory assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and field engagement across NYC/ NJ area.
• Perform field audits of vessels, terminals and operations.
• Investigate incidents and participate in root cause analyses.
• Coach crews and shore staff on safe work practices and procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports and track corrective actions.
• Support regulatory inspections and cross-functional initiatives.
