Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Director, Engineering Management for the Maritime Division Chief Engineer to lead a cross-functional engineering team across DoD and international programs. You will oversee technical scope, cost and schedule performance, and ensure staffing, recruitment, and development of top engineering talent.

You will drive product development from concept through production, manage IRAD portfolios, and work with sector leaders to align growth with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 15 years of applicable experience in a product development role; DoD experience required, with 10 years leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading large engineering organizations that are geographically diverse.
• Active Secret level Security Clearance; Top Secret/SCI preferred; US Citizenship required to maintain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and manage the cross-functional engineering organization dedicated to the ongoing advancement of the Engineering team and division product roadmaps.
• Technical scope, cost and schedule accountability for technical project execution.
• Management of engineering staffing demand, allocation of resources and posting of requisitions to successfully support the division.
• Lead and mentor the engineering leadership team to continue to develop strong technical leaders.
• Planning and execution of product development, from definition through production transition, across all markets to meet division goals.
• Manage IRAD portfolio and develop and maintain product technology roadmap.
• Manage Engineering organization budgets and oversee staffing plans.
• Champion the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
• Interact with Sector peers and customers; ensure programs transition to production and deployment.
• Travel up to 25% as required by business needs.
