Job summary

The GBS Group is seeking a Maritime Electrical Engineer at our Virginia Beach headquarters to join a team delivering advanced naval and maritime electrical solutions. The role focuses on shipboard power generation, distribution, navigation and communication systems, with design support and testing responsibilities across an industrial/shipboard environment.

Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in shipboard electrical systems, PLC-driven controls, and the ability to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
3+ years of experience working with shipboard electrical power generation systems.
Proficient knowledge of US Navy and commercial shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, navigation and communications.
Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to shipboard systems.
Ability to execute PLC driven systems for machinery controls.
Ability to travel and obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Support shipboard electrical power, navigation systems, communications, and machinery controls.
Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
Develop programming and equipment standards for shipboard power, control, and distribution.
Prepare technical documentation such as reports, procedures and test plans.
Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing shipboard electrical systems.
Contribute to proposal development with WBS, BOM, and labor estimates.
