Job summary

Mission Technologies is seeking a qualified Welder to support PM trades aboard active ships and shore facilities. The role involves welding, alterations, and fleet modernization tasks using SMAW, with travel across shipyards and bases.

You will operate from blueprints, maintain quality and safety standards, and may lead or assist a trades team. Candidate must pass welding qualification tests within three weeks and obtain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• High school or trade school plus 4 years related experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance.
• Experience welding with SMAW in all positions.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and engineering sketches.

Responsibilities

• Work on shipboard maintenance and fleet modernization projects.
• Read blueprints and lay out welding work.
• Install, maintain and repair structural components and piping.
• Ensure work adheres to quality and safety procedures.
