Job summary

Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced welder to support Platform Modernization trades teams. You will work on active class surface ships and submarines, performing welding, fabrication, installation, and alignment per blueprints and work orders to support fleet modernization efforts.

The role requires travel to shipyards and bases, with per diem and travel expenses covered. A DoD secret clearance is required, and candidates must demonstrate welding ability and pass QA tests within the

Qualifications

  • Must have High School education or equivalent, and 6 years of related marine welding experience.
  • Must be able to obtain medical clearance to wear a half-face respirator.
  • Must have welding experience with stick welding (SMAW) in all positions from 2G to 6G for Carbon Steel.
  • Must have welding experience with gas metal arc welding (GMAW) in all positions from 2G to 6G for Aluminum.
  • Must have strong knowledge of reading and interpreting structural drawings, blueprints, weldments, technical manuals, engineering sketches, charts and/or work orders.
  • Must be able to accurately read welding symbols and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.
  • Perform work in accordance with established quality and safety procedures.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
