Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a Marine Welder/Fitter to support PM on active class surface ships, performing welding, fabricating, and installations for fleet modernization. Travel to shipyards and bases is required; per diem is provided with travel and lodging covered by the company. Must demonstrate welding ability and pass QA testing within three weeks.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with a High School education or trade school background and 4 years of welding experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrate welding ability on SMAW, FCAW, GMAW per job needs.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and weld symbols.
• Must travel up to 75% when not on local tasking.

Responsibilities

• Display quality, integrity, safety, and performance in line with company values.
• Support trades team on shipboard alterations and fleet modernization.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, and work orders; fabricate and install components.
• Maintain safety procedures and communicate effectively with the team.
