Job summary

Kirby is seeking skilled marine technicians to diagnose and repair both commercial and pleasure vessels at dock or sea. You will work with engines, propulsion, electronics, and subassemblies, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

The role offers a $30–$50 per hour pay range with sign-on bonuses for Tech I–II ($1,000) and Tech III ($2,000). Overtime, travel and a full benefits package are common. There is a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience.
• Technical degree or certification in a diesel engine program preferred.
• Full set of basic hand tools incl. torque wrenches is necessary.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform complex major repairs on customer vessels at dock or sea.
• Coordinate with parts to identify and order necessary components.
• Perform routine maintenance per guidelines and schedules.
• Complete work orders and timesheets accurately and promptly.
• Occasionally work overtime, weekends or holidays to finish repairs.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow quality standards.
