Job summary

Kirby Corporation seeks an experienced marine diesel technician to diagnose and repair vessels for commercial and pleasure craft, on-site at customer locations or at sea. You will work on engines, propulsion systems, electronics, and subassemblies with a focus on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, ordering parts, performing routine maintenance, and completing work orders and timesheets. Overtime, weekends, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5+ years related mechanical experience.
• Diesel engine program certification is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems on customer equipment and perform major repairs.
• Work with parts department to identify and order parts for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance per established guidelines and schedules.
• Complete all work orders and timesheets accurately and on time.
• Be available for overtime, including weekends and holidays.
• Work independently in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow quality standards and safety procedures.
