Job summary

Kirby Corporation seeks a skilled diesel technician to diagnose and repair customer vessels at dock or sea, covering commercial and pleasure craft. You will troubleshoot complex systems, perform major repairs, and coordinate with the parts team to source components.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of related experience; diesel certification preferred. Valid driver's license, basic hand tools, and ability to work overtime are expected; a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3–5 years related experience.
• Technical degree or diesel engine program certification preferred.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license required.
• Must own basic hand tools (standard and metric) including torque wrenches.

Responsibilities

• Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose problems on customer equipment and perform major repairs.
• Work with parts to identify and order needed components.
• Perform routine maintenance per guidelines and schedules.
• Complete work orders and time sheets legibly and timely.
• Available to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
• Work independently in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow established quality standards and safety procedures.
